🖼️ Ktm 790 Duke Reliability Issues
The 790 is a fantastic bike but it is let down by KTM's infamous reliability unfortunately. Day 1 and it had a brake light that was stuck always on and a valve cover oil leak. Little while later had a failed immobilizer that disabled ABS, traction control, and the quickshifter while I was riding it.

KTM’s first big motorcycle for India, the 790 Duke, is finally here; but it has been priced higher than most were hoping. Then again, this is a KTM, so game-changing price or not, the 790 Duke
So the 790 duke was released in 2017 and superseded by the 890 Duke in 2022. Did KTM change anything between the standard 2017-2021 models? I'm looking to buy a 790, heard about some reliability issues and wanted to see if the later 790 are a better option.
The bike is available in two color options and has good fit and finish. It features a 5-inch TFT color instrument cluster with easy-to-operate switches. In terms of performance, the 390 Duke
But yeah, check bolts, don't overfill oil etc. Depending on the Duke model it might have the common seal problem behind the front sprocket - haven't seen this issue on a Duke 4 yet, if that's the bike you have. Powering the 890 Duke R (aptly dubbed the “Super Scalpel”) is a new 889cc DOHC parallel-twin engine, based on the 790 powerplant. The engine gets an increased bore and stroke of 90.7 x 68.8mm
True. However the op is in the US it looks like. Factory warranty is one year. I was under the impression KTM doesn't do extended warranties in the US and they were only available from the aftermarket. Perhaps the dealership threw in an extra year, in which case its them rather than KTM that would be on the hook.
KTM’s 790 range is certainly revived for 2023, and largely thanks to CFMoto, it seems. The Chinese manufacturer will build the 2023 KTM 790 Duke that was announced a few days ago, and it has now been announced that they will build the 2023 KTM 790 Adventure, too.
